Quick drain cleaning! Pour a hot, strong solution (1/2 cup of salt for every quart of water) down the drain for an instant cleaning.
Shop Smart
Buy products in the largest size you can use and avoid excess packaging. Keep in mind that 10¢ of every shopping dollar is used to pay for packaging.

Small sizes use more packaging for each ounce of product than larger sizes. If you buy large sizes, you save money, reduce waste to help the environment.

Your Home Project
Top 5 steps to an organized and updated garage
When you organize and update your garage, you'll get more use from the space and add value to your home. Many people have so much junk stored in their garages, there's no room for a single car!

1)Sort and organize garage items. Empty the garage, sorting items into categories. Dump expired products and things you'll never use again, including old paint and chemicals that may cause a danger.

2) Create additional storage. Used kitchen cabinets work well for garage storage. There are many other options for storage including shelves, pegboards and hooks for hanging large tools or bicycles. Inexpensive plastic storage bins help store garage items. Look at covered storage choices that you can build or hire garage professionals for a custom treatment.

3)Install a workbench so you can work efficiently in the garage. Place your tool pegboard above this area and keep the toolbox handy.

4)Add sufficient lighting, e.g., under cabinet lighting, overhead lighting — enough to work comfortably on projects.

5)Garage floorcovering adds to the beauty and value of your home. Consider flooring options in a variety of washable colors and designs; durable, low cost interlocking; roll out garage flooring; or epoxy floor coatings that require prep work and may require professional installation.

If you've done the job well, you should now have room for a vehicle or two, depending on the size of your garage.

Cost Buster Tip
Save money by canceling your private mortgage insurance (PMI). PMI protects the lender should you default on your mortgage payments and is often required for loans where the down payment is less than 15 to 20%. It is added to your mortgage payment each month. PMI can usually be canceled after your home's value has increased enough to give you 20 to 25% in equity in your house. Talk to your lender about canceling your PMI insurance.

Home Reminder   yearly shutoff check.
Identify locations of the Electrical Panel/Breaker Box and show family members how to shut off main breaker, or flip any circuits back on after an overload. Check all the shutoff valves in your home, plus toilet, sink, dishwasher and gave valve.
